At PackTailor we offer mono-material plastic packaging. Most often PP and PE. These materials are widely used in Europe and are easier to recycle compared to mixed plastic laminates.

Many traditional flexible pouches combine different materials like PET, aluminum and PE. They offer strong barriers but are very hard to recycle. Mono-material PP or PE bags  use one plastic family which makes sorting and recycling much more realistic in practice.

In the EU the direction is clear. New packaging rules focus on recyclability and waste reduction. The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation pushes companies to use packaging that is designed for recycling not only labeled as sustainable. Mono-material packaging fits much better into this solution.

Of course not every product can use mono-materials. Barrier and shelf life still matter. For dry products like coffee, tea, snacks or supplements, recyclable PP or PE pouches often work very well.

Our approach is practical. If a recyclable solution works for your product, we recommend it. If it does not, we say it directly. A pouch that fails is never sustainable.

With low MOQ and digital printing you can also test recyclable materials without large risk.

Small steps still matter and they help brands stay aligned with EU regulations over time.
